Under his father’s guidance, Luang Phor Ngern learned Thai script, Khmer letters, and sacred incantations, which laid the foundation for his future spiritual practices.

Ordination and Monastic Life

Luang Phor Ngern was ordained on May 18, 1910 (B.E. 2453), at Wat Don Yai Hom by Phra Palat Huay. He received the monastic name Jantasuwanno and dedicated himself to studying scriptures, meditation, and traditional Buddhist practices. In his sixth year as a monk, he began practicing forest meditation and embarked on a pilgrimage (dhutanga) to enhance his spiritual discipline.
