Luang Phor Lae Thittapho (Phra Khru Thammathorn Lae) of Wat Phra Song, Phetchaburi, was a highly respected monk known for his expertise in sacred tattoos (sak yant) and powerful spiritual knowledge. His Hanuman yant (tattoo) was especially renowned for its mystical strength.

Biography

Luang Phor Lae was born on July 19, 1916, in Ban Rai Sat, Phetchaburi Province, Thailand. His father was Mr. Yoo, and his mother was Mrs. Thong Waduang. He was the youngest of seven siblings.

At 14 years old, he was ordained as a novice monk at a local temple. Then, at 20 years old, he took full ordination as a Buddhist monk at Wat Nong Mai Luang, Phetchaburi, on June 24, 1934. His preceptor was Luang Phor Mai of Wat Khao Thamon, and his mentors included Luang Phor Ploen of Wat Nong Mai Luang.

A Tragic Turning Point

One of the most significant and tragic events in his life was the murder of his entire family. Criminals broke into his home, robbing and killing his mother and all his siblings. His father had already passed away earlier due to illness.

Following this heartbreaking event, Luang Phor Lae chose to dedicate his life entirely to spiritual pursuits. He traveled extensively for Tudong (forest monk meditation retreats), seeking deeper wisdom and strengthening his magical knowledge.

Passing & Legacy

Luang Phor Lae passed away on March 10, 2008, due to a blood infection at Phetcharat Hospital, Phetchaburi. He was 93 years old and had spent 54 years as a monk.
